The British kitchen-furniture manufacturer and dealer Howden Joinery Group (Howdens) showed year-on-year growth in turnover of 7.2% to £390.8m in the first half of 2013. The increase resulted primarily from the operations of Howden Joinery UK, whose revenues were up by 7.3% to £383.7m. Turnover generated in France also increased, by approximately 3% to £7.1m, whereby it showed slight year-on-year decline after adjustment for currency effects and selling space. Overall, group turnover profited from an additional selling week at the beginning of the 2013, without which revenue growth for British activities would have been only 4.3%.
