Oman Cement Co has said its net profit for the first half of 2013 climbed 3.1% to OR9.3m from OR9m in the same period last year, Muscat Daily has reported. Total production and sales dropped, mainly as a result of the shutdown of one of its cement mills, with a capacity of 150TPH, for more than a month due to technical problems. The company produced 1.06m metric tonnes (MT) of cement during the first half of 2013 against 1.12m MT produced during the corresponding period of 2012, which is lower by 5.23%.
