Beckhoff, a global provider of PC-based control technology, has revealed its plans to showcase its automation technologies XTS, EtherCAT among others at this month’s Drinktec 2017 in Munich.
The company says that its automation technologies will make beverage manufacturers rethink design of their machines and processing systems.
One of them planned to be brought to the trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry will be the XTS, Beckhoff’s hygienic design version of its linear transport system.
Beckhoff says that it has developed the basis for tailor-made product concepts by integrating XTS with technologies for cloud-based automation. XTS is expected to help beverage manufacturers with new machine design capacity.
Owing to the high level of flexibility offered by XTS, manufacturers can produce customized products and also products of lot size 1. With XTS, manufacturers can also increase the availability of their systems with reduced downtimes for changeover or unexpected troubleshooting.
Beckhoff stated: “The highly compact linear transport system XTS is changing the way how machines are designed: when used as part of a PC-based control solution, XTS gives you maximum freedom of design with a minimum of components.”
The company will be unveiling the XTS Hygienic during the fair which is a fully encapsulated mechatronic transport system in the XTS line. XTS Hygienic is claimed to be well suited for designing filling systems because of its high flexibility and for being optimally easy to clean.
The technology provider is also looking to introduce EtherCAT which it calls as a beverage fieldbus. EtherCAT allows complex Ethernet star topologies to be changed with basic line or tree structures thus enabling outstanding performance, easy configuration and flexible topology, stated Beckhoff.
