Big changes are coming soon to the Red River Zoo, some of which can already be seen through this: A glass mosaic.
The piece of art tells the story of the zoo's history, which features animals from the past, present and future of the zoo.
The mosaic was built as part of a grant received by the Red River Zoo from The Arts Partnership.
Magda Szeitz- Artist: "I'd say that I approached every animal as it were my favorite because they all did become my favorite animals as I worked on the project."
Meanwhile, if you'd look closely at that mosaic, you would see this: An otter!
That's because in just two weeks, a brand new otter exhibit is set to open here at the Red River Zoo.
Zoo staff say there will be two otters in the exhibit, both of which they've had on hand since they recovered them when they were babies near the Sheyenne river.
