Young America is expanding its social media environments for consumers with an official presence on Pinterest, an online community that allows members to collect and share content virtually by "pinning" it onto thematically defined boards.
The Young America Pinterest page, which launched with 35 theme boards, celebrates families and childhood, and also provides parents with design inspiration for nurseries and children's rooms.
Young America's Pinterest page features boards on several themes.
The company said it is looking forward to further engaging with these users on Pinterest and to establishing relationships with consumers who may be new to the Young America brand.
"Pinterest provides an excellent opportunity for us to meet our customers in a new online community and introduce them to the Young America brand," said Stanley Director of Marketing Neil MacKenzie. "The visual nature of the site makes it a perfect fit for showcasing design ideas and furniture products as well as for helping to show consumers how they can get the look of a professionally designed room. From a marketing standpoint, we already know that social media recommendations carry significant influence with buyers, and Pinterest is projected to become one of the largest drivers for social media-related purchases. As a result, we view Pinterest as an important avenue for customer interaction and potential sales growth in the future."
On Young America's Pinterest page, consumers can find a myriad of decor inspiration through theme boards dedicated to girls' rooms, boys' rooms and nurseries, as well as to art, room accessories and color stories.
Incorporated into many of the boards are room scenes featuring Young America products, which illustrate how the pieces can be matched and styled in a room. The page also offers parents insights on craft projects, activities for kids, birthday party ideas and baby shower tips through theme boards dedicated to each of these subjects.
"In order to help our Pinterest page appeal to a broad range of consumers, we specifically developed theme boards on a variety of topics and interests," said MacKenzie. "The assortment of images and ideas contained within Young America's Pinterest page allows users to focus on the boards that interest them most or to explore the entire page at their leisure. Either way, consumers are sure to be inspired by the hundreds of photos found on the site. This creates opportunities for engagement on youngamerica.com and that allows us to leverage this opportunity for our retail partners."
Young America is continuously updating its theme boards with fresh content to keep users engaged. The Pinterest page will also be used to drive traffic to contests and giveaways hosted on the Young America Facebook page.
