The 156 businesses with work forces of at least 20 and organised within the German Federal Association for Wooden Packaging, Pallets and Export Packaging (HPE ), were able to show year-on-year growth in turnover in the 2012 financial year of 0.5% to €1.314bn. In view of the year-on-year increase in revenues of 19% already achieved in 2011, business activity in the sector has been maintained at a comparatively very high level. Production value generated by HPE businesses showed a minimal rise from roughly €1.13bn in 2011 to roughly €1.15bn in 2012; in 2010, that value had still been at only roughly €991m. For 2013, the HPE expects to see a stable run of business at the same level as in 2012.
