As reported by various fittings, foils and machinery suppliers represented at the International Woodworking Fair (IWF) which was held from 22 to 25 August in Atlanta the recovery from the collapses of recent years which has taken place during 2011 in the US-American furniture industry has so far continued in 2012. In the past the furniture industry in the USA has been severely affected by the transfer of capacity to China in segments such as lounge, bedroom and upholstered furniture. Although production transfers have not been made to the same extent in the kitchen and bathroom furniture segment (Cabinetry), the weakening of private residential building which culminated in the 2007 subprime crisis has had a much greater adverse effect than it has in other sectors.
