Italian Exports of Wood Processing Machinery Were Better Than Expected

Italian exports of wood processing machinery were better than expected in the fourth quarter of 2012, according to the industry association Acimall. As a result, the full year ended up being better than forecast for the industry. Italian producers’ revenues (excluding tools) fell to €1.153bn in 2012. Just a few weeks ago, Acimall had projected an 8 % decline. The Italian market remains the main problem for manufacturers of wood processing machinery. Business in other EU countries also dropped by 6 % to €524m.
