Destatis Reported The Total Price-Adjusted Value of Orders Received Decreased by 1.2%

As reported by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the total price-adjusted value of orders received by building construction and civil and underground engineering enterprises in Germany decreased by 1.2 percent in January this year compared to the same month of 2012.

In January, building construction demand in Germany decreased by 1.7 percent, while demand in civil and underground engineering was down by 0.7 percent, both on year-on-year basis. The total turnover in building construction in Germany amounted in January this year to around €3.9 billion, indicating a decrease of 10.8 percent compared to January 2012.

In 2012, German building construction demand had increased by 5.4 percent, while demand in civil and underground engineering was up by 2.8 percent, both on year-on-year basis. The total turnover in building construction in Germany had amounted last year to around €93.8 billion, indicating a slight increase of 0.4 percent compared to 2011.
