Netherlands-based Xeikon has announced the launch of the new ICE toner for its digital label presses, which will be available for customers from fourth quarter of 2013.
The toner is part of the Xeikon Label Suite and is suitable for heat sensitive substrates including PE facestock (polyethylene) and thermal labels, opening open up the potential for a whole range of new applications.
Xeikon Labels and Packaging segment marketing and business development director Filip Weymans said the ICE toner has been tailored to the needs of its label customers.
"ICE toner has been designed to perform at the right temperature, and has been engineered to perfection for this additional demand, delivering only the very best in Xeikon quality," Weymans said.
According to Xeikon, PE, which has a good flexibility and pliability, is widely used for the surface of packaging that is used on regular as well as irregular containers that have to stay away from humidity and chemical solvents.
Based on the Xeikon QA technology, ICE toner, which has benefits including better printing quality, lightfastness and top opaque white quality, will run on all new and installed Xeikon 3000 Series digital presses.
