Surroundings Furniture and Design here has joined the Contemporary Design Group buying group.
Surroundings, with one location in Northfield, N.J., plans to open a second store soon, according to a release.
The retailer opened its first store 14 years ago in Egg Harbor City, N.J., specializing in custom furniture. Its focus continues to be "customized customer service and superior furniture selections," the release said.
Surroundings owners David Schwartz and Christine Borchardt-Schwartz said they hope that their CDG collaboration "will help them gain an even more successful position in the marketplace."
San Diego based Contemporary Design Group is a performance/buying group specializing in modern and contemporary home furnishings. CDG now has 23 retailer members with stores in 35 cities across the country and projected sales this year of about $100 million.
