Marge Carson sales reps learn about the high-end manufacturer's products in a sales meeting at company headquarters in Pomona, Calif.
POMONA, Calif. — Marge Carson, a manufacturer of high-end home furnishings, hosted more than 30 colleagues at a national sales meeting held at the company's new headquarters here.
The February event was attended by domestic and international sales representatives, as well as the contract sales force and outside designers and provided the first opportunity for the representatives to tour the new 72,000-square-foot facility.
"During the course of the three-day meeting, we spent time not only on product training, but also on how we're utilizing our newly laid-out plant," said company President Will Sharp. "It gives us the ability for improved efficiencies and better quality oversight. We reviewed product plans and future directions, and solicited feedback for upcoming introductions and marketing strategies."
There was also a focus on new corporate programs. Attendees learned about a price-sensitive upholstery initiative and case goods stocking programs that will shorten lead times. The company also provided information to help sales reps train retailers and designers to sell the brand with confidence.
"Attention to detail is what sets Marge Carson apart," Sharp said. "We showed them how to take that message home in several ways - with photography, PowerPoint programs, our newly enhanced website, even a new app on iPad with design desk and wish list capabilities.
"We sent our sales representatives out with the ability to show Marge Carson product in the best possible light, giving them - and, ultimately, their dealers - complete confidence in our design leadership and quality."
