Many regions are already summer in May and June in China, but the heavy truck markets are still rather gloomy.

Sales of China Heavy Trucks Down 31% in May

According to recent data, 51,000 heavy trucks were sold in China in May, down 13% over last month and down 31% over last year, and this is the fourth time with the decreasing sales of heavy trucks over 30% since this year, and the decreasing rate were 50%, 30%, 33% and 31% respectively. And we can find that the sales of heavy trucks are not stopping decreasing in the first few months this year, and the sales decreased by 33.5% from Jan to April and down 33% from Jan to May.

Dongfeng sold 11,500 units and Sinotruk sold 10,000 units, down 24% and 19% over last year, and FAW sold 7200 units, Shacman sold 7000 units and Foton sold 7100 units, down 40%, 30% and 38%. JAC sold 2300 units, down 43% over last year and CAMC sold 1620 units, down 19% over last year, Dayun sold 1366 units, up 24% over last year and Beiben sold 800 units and SIH sold 902 units, down 31% and 61% over last year.

The sales of heavy trucks decreased over 30% can be attributed to the slow growth of fixed asset investment and low economic growth and the gloomy needs for the customers. As reported by some dealers, many projects are stopping in many regions in China, and many heavy trucks are waiting for the reopening of the projects.
