Asia Glass Has Begun Construction on an Innovative Glass Plant in The Southern Kazakh City

Asia Glass has begun construction on an innovative glass plant in the southern Kazakh city Taraz, the company’s director said on Wednesday

The company agreed to invest in Taraz during an investment forum in the southern city held in September 2012.

“We are pleased to report that we made one constructive step for the benefit of the economy of the country and its people,” Asia Glass Director Elena Pevneva told the Kazinform news agency.

“The production activities of the new plant will solve a number of pressing problems, such as economic, social, and industrial.”

The construction of the plant will lead to the creation of 600 jobs, and will also create skilled workers, the company director added.

The plant is expected to produce 370 million units of glass containers on an annual basis.

“The capacity of the new plant will meet 24 percent of demand for high-quality glass packaging that meets all the standards of international quality,” Pevneva added.

Construction of the plant will take 18 months to complete, while production is anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2015.
