Guardian Industries Offers Interior Designers and Architects a Product Solution

Guardian Industries now offers interior designers and architects a product solution that enables them to design with glass without sacrificing privacy: Guardian Reveal, the company’s newest interior glass innovation.

Guardian Reveal uses switchable technology to bring new versatility to interior and architectural designs. It transitions from transparent clarity to serene privacy in a single click. Turn on Reveal for clear, bright views. Turn it off, and a gentle opacity conceals all but the simplest of forms.

“Guardian Reveal brings privacy to interior walls and doors in any number of settings, including healthcare, retail, hospitality, office buildings and more,” explains Diane Turnwall, Guardian’s market segment director for Interiors. “This is a great use of glass in environments that benefit from increased daylight but sometimes require privacy.”

Designers and architects can create distinctive designs for shower enclosures, walls and partitions, dividers, windows and doors, entryways, airport screening booths and more. Guardian Reveal is available in a broad range of colors, tints, patterns and textures. In addition, Guardian Reveal is eligible for LEED certification points because it is energy efficient and helps pull daylighting deeper into a project’s interior.

At the Langham Chicago, a AAA Five Diamond, luxury hotel housed in a renovated Mies van der Rohe-designed building, designers incorporated Guardian Reveal to add a level of beauty and sophistication to the elegantly appointed rooms.

Reveal allows a visionary link between the guest room and the contemporary design of the bathroom, providing a wall that is clear when on. Turn Reveal off, and the softly frosted wall adds a level of privacy to the room.

Guardian Reveal begins with high-quality float glass, laminated with a liquid crystal film and PVB (polyvinyl butyral) interlayer. A current renders glass transparent, offering unobstructed views and welcoming abundant light.

Reveal can be controlled with a switch, motion detector, daylight sensor or other device. Turn off the electrical current, and in less than one second, the glass becomes an opaque screen.

Guardian Reveal switchable privacy glass is a featured product from Guardian InGlass, forward-thinking interior glass solutions that will be on view at Guardian Industries Booth 1916 at the 2013 AIA Convention in Denver June 20-22. To learn more, visit www.guardianinglass.com.
