The Negative Turnover Development Continued for Alno

In the first quarter of 2013 the negative turnover development continued for Alno, although it was possible to stabilise profits. Following an almost 15% decline in turnover in the fourth quarter of 2012, in the first three months of this year Alno was confronted by a further decline of 15.3% to €100.4m vis à vis a high figure in the comparative quarter last year. Domestic turnover plummeted by 24.1% to €66.3m, whilst an increase of 9.1% to €34.1m was recorded in export business. One of the reasons for the decline in turnover on the domestic market was the high price increases implemented in summer last year in connection with the Alno and Wellmann brands, which led to a reduction in customers’ orders. Alno also mentions a poor situation on the market generally as a further reason for the negative development.
