Homestretch Plans to Open a New, Larger Showroom at The April High Point Market

Motion furniture producer HomeStretch plans to open a new, larger showroom at the April High Point Market that will allow the company to display its entire product line for the first time.

The 6,000-square-foot showroom in space 402 of the Market on Green building is roughly double the size of its former exhibit space in the International Home Furnishings Center, said Gentry Long, vice president of the Mississippi-based company.

"This will allow us to show buyers the depth and breadth of our line," Long said.

At market, the company will use the new space to launch an expanded recliner lineup and three new motion seating groups.

The recliner program will target the $499 and $599 retail price points, and the expanded lineup includes the company's first power rocker/recliner.

"We're making a concerted effort to expand our recliner assortment," Long said. "We feel like there's a void in the marketplace at those price points."

The new motion groups feature sofa price points of $799 and $899 and are available with power reclining mechanisms.

Based in Nettleton, Miss., HomeStretch began production in the spring of 2010. The company was started by Long and his brother-in-law, William "Skipper" Holliman, who is HomeStretch's president. Both had been executives at Lane Furniture.
