BAY MINETTE, Ala. -- Case goods manufacturer Standard Furniture has named Myron Woody as director of quality assurance for both Standard and its IFM import division.

He replaces Tommy Turk, who was promoted to plant manager for Standard's Frisco City plant.

Woody, who reports to company President Todd Evans, was most recently quality assurance director for San Francisco-based Williams-Sonoma and before that held a similar position at Outlook International.

He also was a sourcing manager for Pottery Barn and was import quality manager at Thomasville and an assistant plant manager at Lexington Home Brands.

The company said Woody has more than 30 years experience in furniture production management and quality assurance, and is a seventh generation family member who has worked in furniture production.

"We are very pleased to have Myron join our Standard team," Evans said in a statement. "He brings considerable knowledge and experience to us and will be a valuable asset in managing both our domestic and import quality assurance initiatives."
