Saudi Cement Recommence Production at Three of Its Older Kilns in a Bid to Boost Capacity

Saudi Cement Company has announced that it has recommenced production at three of its older kilns at its plant in Hofuf in a bid to boost capacity in the country.

The company, which is based in Dammam, said that kilns 1, 2 and 3 at the plant will be used to produce clinker, with a combined capacity of 1,325 tons per day.

Saudi Cement is one of a number of operators in the country currently in the process of upgrading plants in a bid to meet growing demand for supplies on the back of growth in the country s construction sector.

In October, the firm announced plans to replace three old mills with two newer, more efficient lines at one of its plants in a move that will boost capacity to around 600,000 tons per year.
