Hail Cement Co, whose plant began full operations in May this year, has announced that its production line is to be closed for more than two weeks for scheduled maintenance.
The firm closed the line on Saturday (26 October) and said that it will remain closed until November 11 for kiln and raw mill maintenance. It added that its cement mills and packing plant will remain active, though.
The company recorded a $5.8m (SR21.6m) profit for the first nine months of 2013, compared to a $4.9m (SR18.3m) loss during its pre-operational phase in the same period last year.
It said that the impact of the shutdown on revenues would be declared when it releases fourth quarter results, but that there would be no impact on its commitment to its customers.
