The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) has temporarily revoked all of Danzer’s FSC forest management and chain-of-custody certificates. The disassociation has resulted from a complaint filed by Greenpeace that Danzer’s former subsidiary SIFORCO was involved in the violation of human rights in the Democratic Republic of the Congo when the company was still part of the Danzer group. Danzer sold SIFORCO in February 2012 to Groupe Blattner Elwyn. Danzer and the FSC have agreed on conditions to enable the company to re-apply for FSC certification.
