Months After It Ran out of Cement, North Delhi Municipal Corporation Has Ordered 60k Bags

Three months after it ran out of cement, North Delhi Municipal Corporation has ordered 60,000 bags. It also asked East Delhi Municipal Corporation to lend it 5,000 cement bags after the shortage hit road and drain repair works. North Corporation does not have its own storage space.

"We have placed an order for 60,000 cement bags. It is the contractor s responsibility to maintain roads but they are inefficient," Ravinder Gupta, chairman, works committee, North Corporation, said. The corporation will start construction of its own store by this month-end. "We have identified a plot at Civil Lines. We were using storage space of East and South corporations," P K Gupta, commissioner, North Corporation, said.
