Dreams will open its first store in the North-east in Portrack Lane, Stockton-on-Tees, on Friday. The first of six new store openings in the region, including a forthcoming unit in Gateshead, the launch of the Stockton-on-Tees store has created six new jobs. It is also the latest outlet in the Dreams portfolio to incorporate its fresh brand design concept, which the retailer is currently rolling out across its stores in the UK.
To celebrate the opening, Dreams will be offering customers discounts, and on Saturday 4th July will welcome Samia Ghadie, best known for her role as Maria in Coronation Street.
Jeremy Gerken, retail operations director at Dreams, says: “We have been planning for some time to bring Dreams to the North-east, and we’re thrilled to announce our arrival this week at Stockton-on-Tees, offering customers a huge choice of products including beds, mattresses, furniture and linens. This store will be one of the first to feature our fresh new interior design and layout, as well as our Comfort by Colour concept, making it easy for customers to choose the right mattress for their needs – and ultimately helping them to get a better night’s sleep.
“In addition to the six new stores in the North-east, and as part of a significant expansion programme, Dreams plans to open 30 additional shops around the UK within the next 12 months, following recent trials of stores in 6000 to 8000 sqft format, which have proven to be highly successful.”
The store, on Portrack Lane, will be managed by David Woodland.
