Furniture First Buying Group has launched the cooperative's first national furniture sale, which combines a traffic-driving direct mail promotion with a coordinated sale period, running Sept. 20-29.
Ninety-seven Furniture First member retailers are participating in the sale, supported by the $1.6 billion buying power of their group.
Furniture First negotiated discounts with 64 of its vendor partners in a variety of home furnishings categories. In addition to the discounts, the National Furniture Sale incorporates financing specials arranged with Furniture First consumer financing partners.
A coordinated, multi-channel marketing campaign was prepared for participants. Materials include point of purchase kits, TV and radio spots, a customizable press release for retailers to distribute to their local media, and e-blast templates to send to customers. Furniture First also created three micro-websites to promote the sale, highlight available brands and allow customers to find local dealers.
