Cuba has become the first country in the world to achieve a renewal in the preparation of ecological cement.
The first production of ecological cement was achieved at the Siguaney factory.
The project is the result of research conducted at the Central University of Las Villas and the University Of Lausanne, Switzerland.
The production is expected to reduce energy costs and help the sanitation of the environment by reducing emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2).
The process is based on the replacement of up to 60 percent of the clinker, which will reduce polluting emissions.
The ecological cement can be used in the production of concrete blocks, roof tiles, on completion work, and in the oil industry because of its refractory properties.
