Tomlinson Is Introducing Two New Collections by Bea Pila at The High Point Market

Upholstery supplier Tomlinson is introducing two new collections by designer Bea Pila at the Oct. 19-24 High Point Market.

The Salon Collection features 14 upholstered pieces as well as occasional tables and showcases new styles along with reproductions from the 1960s archives of Erwin Lambeth, one of Tomlinson's three divisions. Also new is the Miami Nice collection for the company's Directional division, which includes 13 upholstered pieces and a selection of occasional tables.

Company officials describe The Salon Collection as offering "unconventional seating" that includes pieces in varying heights with a "fun, modern, boutique vibe." The Miami Nice collection features off-white linen and hair-on-hide accented with leathers and warm woods paired with cool metals.

"We wanted to do a collection that exemplified what we see happening in the market today, such as in the lobbies of boutique hotels," said Rod Lambeth, CEO of Tomlinson. "We're thrilled to have Bea Pila partner with us. Her expertise, energy and vibrancy shine through to the collection."

Pila is a Miami-based designer and founding principal of B. Pila Design Studio, which oversees residential, commercial, healthcare and developer projects in the United States, South and Central America and the Caribbean. She is a past winner of HGTV's Designer Challenge in Miami.

"Too many living rooms, dining rooms and parlor-like rooms are underutilized spaces," Pila said. "We want to bring back life in these spaces by stripping away the formality and replacing it with elements that lure usability. This collection creates areas of relaxation, lounging and conversing. It's an expression of the way we live today. Tomlinson's quality, styling and fabrics are exquisite and the fact that it is all made domestically is another strength."

The Salon and Miami Nice collections by Bea Pila will be shown in the Tomlinson showroom at 525 N. Wrenn St. during the October market. Buyers are also invited to enjoy coffee drinks made by a barista, live music and afternoon beer, wine and other refreshments.
