San Diego's own Legal Cannabis Institute has opened its doors again to provide education on the law, use and cultivation of medical cannabis in California beginning on Saturday April 13, 2013.?? "We are excited about new elected San Diego Mayor Bob Filner's support of collective storefronts," said Nicole Scott, the founder and president of LCI.? "Collective, cooperatives, storefronts and all sorts of canna-businesses will soon be opening in San Diego. We are here to help them do so legally, quickly, and most importantly compliantly"
The election of Bob Filner as San Diego's Mayor was a dramatic and exciting welcome for many residents of San Diego. ?With a progressive and open-minded leader at the helm, San Diego's medical marijuana finally gained a fierce alley. ?In January 2013, Mayor Filner openly stated his belief that patients should have safe access to medical marijuana. He also promised the medical marijuana community that his office would immediately begin the effort to draft a zoning and public safety ordinance and present it City Council. This ordinance will go before Council for a vote on April 22, 2013 at 2pm. With new rules on the horizon people have many questions and Legal Cannabis Institute is well positioned to provide the answers.
There are still many risks that face those individuals who wish to provide patients with medical marijuana pursuant to state law.
Furthermore, there are various legal cases, rules and compliance measures that one must take in order to make sure they are protected to the fullest extent possible. ?The Legal Cannabis Institute serves as the?epicenter to provide patients with the valuable education and knowledge they need to navigate their way through this challenging industry and complex laws. The curriculum will address all sorts of questions ranging from collective formation, how to grow compliantly to how to best prepare in the event of a law enforcement encounter.
"We have an experienced faculty of lawyers that teach law classes, nurses that teach our dosing classes and professional gardeners that teach growing," said school owner Nicole Scott.
Some of the institute's most popular courses attract as many as 100 students at a time.
Owner and founder, Scott considers herself a business woman.
"I am a soccer mom from Del Mar, California. My neighbors know what?I do, my mother knows what I do my sister thinks its hilarious… It's an important issue and?I meet delightful people who are making a difference for patients using alternative medicine," said Scott
