Chris Campbell, facility manager at PPG Industries’ industrial coatings manufacturing facility in Mount Vernon, Illinois, has presented PPG Industries Foundation checks totaling nearly $4,000 to North Side Elementary School Teachers Brenda Slover, Kerri Meritt, Zack Holtz and April Smith.
These checks supported programs to teach third-grade students about robotics, to provide phonetic readers to kindergarten students, to introduce a color-coded approach to enhancing oral and written language, and to provide math journals and guidance for students in kindergarten through third grade.
“PPG is strongly committed to supporting the communities where it operates and the schools where its employees are involved,” Campbell said. “It is wonderful to help provide learning tools that will enable these teachers to offer engaging educational experiences to nearly 500 students at North Side Elementary School.”
