KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia --- UBM Asia, an exhibition organizer, is launching its first furniture and interiors show in Southeast Asia in September 2013, according to information obtained from PRNewswire. The Southeast Asia Furniture & Interiors Furniture Fair (SEAFIE) will be held in Kuala Lumpur at the Putra World Trade Centre from Sept. 14-17.
Organizers said that SEAFIE will complement the annual Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF), held in March, as well as the Furniture China show, one of the largest international furniture expos. The show will feature mid- to high-end home and office furniture, interior design products and soft furnishings. Organizers expect to draw 300 international exhibitors and 20,000 buyers.
"The timing is ideal for the launch of SEAFIE in light of the changing market environment," said Datuk Dr Tan Chin Huat, chairman of MIFF. "Based on in-depth market research by UBM, September is a key second buying season for furniture and interiors buyers worldwide these days. SEAFIE will be a fantastic opportunity to tap into this market for manufacturers, designers and distributors."
