Andover-based Woodstock Furniture has become the latest company to be awarded a prestigious Manufacturing Guild Mark (MGM), available only to the top 50 furniture and furnishing manufacturers in the UK, demonstrating excellence in furniture manufacturing.
Woodstock Furniture was successfully assessed against the rigorous criteria required for the MGM, independently audited by FIRA on behalf of the Furniture Makers Company. "Woodstock is just the sort of company, committed to quality and excellence across all aspects of its business, which we want to achieve a Manufacturing Guild Mark. We're delighted to welcome them and hope that the award enables them to reinforce the recognition for excellence they already have and deserve," says the MGM committee chairman, Jessica Alexander.
The MGM is awarded to companies who meet the highest standards of manufacturing, design, product quality, marketing, finance, commitment to training, employment conditions and sustainability. The Guild Mark schemes are administered by the Furniture Makers' Company, the City of London livery company and the British furnishing industry's charity and patron. The MGM is the only one of the three types of Guild Mark which is awarded to the company as a whole not a specific piece or design of furniture.
For 36 years, Woodstock Furniture has been designing and producing furniture for kitchens and every other room in the home for over 36 years and enjoys a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and client satisfaction. "We are delighted to have been awarded the Manufacturing Guild Mark which acknowledges our clear commitment to good design, efficient, quality, British manufacturing and a concern for the environment in the materials we source," said MD Andrew Hall.
"At Woodstock we have obviously been aware of the objectives of the Furniture Makers' Company and the impressive work it has done to set standards within the industry and encourage young talent. To be acknowledged by the Company is therefore a real celebration for us and we are very proud to be accepted into the company of other likeminded British designers and manufacturers.
"We will be using the Manufacturing Guild Mark on our advertising and promotions to reinforce the fact that we are regarded as a quality brand. We are delighted to be able to use it and promote all that it stands for."
