Long established as the principal trade event for the design and interiors industry in the Middle East and North Africa(MENA)region,Index is now in Jeddah,at the heart of Saudi Arabia's economic boom.Index Saudi,held under the Patronage of Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel,President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry,will take place at the Jeddah Centre for Forums and Events from May 29-31,2012.
A report conducted by Index with Ventures Middle East in 2011 saw interiors spending in the Kingdom across commercial,hospitality,residential and retail segments set to reach more than US$2.16 billion for the full year.This was led by US$359 million spending on commercial interiors and US$383 million on residential interiors.
In addition,residential furniture sales in Saudi Arabia,estimated at US$1.7 billion in 2011,are forecast to grow by more than 10 percent a year over the next four years.Residential furniture sales are expected to reach US$2.5 billion by the end of 2015.Commercial furniture sales in Saudi Arabia in 2011 are estimated to be worth US$216 million.
Ninety per cent of exhibition space at Index Saudi has already been pre-booked.More than 120 exhibitors from 25 countries have confirmed their attendance,showcasing furniture,interiors,kitchen and bathroom,lighting,outdoor living and textiles at the fair.An expected audience of over 5,000 trade professionals from across Saudi Arabia,offering the very latest in design innovation,trends and techniques are expected to participate at Index Saudi.
