Construction of PV power station in Qinghai Province speed up these years, there are 40 PV power stations in Qinghai now that can provide 1 million KW power generation. Accumulated generation of the PV power stations in the province is up to 1.022 billion KWH by the end of August this year, saveing consumption of standard coal of 357.7 thousand tons, reducing carbon emission of 550 thousand tons and sulfur dioxide emission of 2289 tons.
With board desert gobi, huge network capacity, strong solar radiation, long duration of sunshine and abundant light energy resources, Qinghai Province has become the premier place for hyper-scale PV high voltage grid-connected power station construction. The province is striving for creating PV industry bases all over the country since 2008, there are dozens of desert grid-connected power stations in Qaidam Basin now. Total PV generation installation of Qinghai will be 4GW by 2015, according to relevant planning.
