Upholstery source Henglin Chair is making its High Point Market debut this week in a 14,000-square foot showroom in Plaza Suites, space 401.
The 15-year-old company produces its entire line at an 850,000-square-foot, company-owned facility in Zhejiang Province, China.
The line includes sofas, sectionals, accent chairs, motion sofas and chairs, and lift chairs in transitional and contemporary styling. Price points range from $399 to $799 retail for stationary sofas; $699 to $999 for stationary sectionals; and $699 to $999 for motion. A wide range of quality fabric and leather covers are available, including bonded leathers.
"For the past four years, we've been selling our line here only through other U.S. importers," said Kevin Gallagher, vice president of sales and marketing for North America. "As our U.S. business has grown, we've seen an opportunity to establish our own factory-direct program for retailers. We're now offering a complete line of on-trend upholstery to retailers at very sharp values. The fact that we own our own mechanism and chrome facility enables us to deliver great quality at exciting price points."
Gallagher added that the company's designs, which incorporate metal accents and other contemporary-influenced style details, are designed to appeal to younger Generation X and Millennial consumers.
Henglin Chair offers mixed-container shipping with quick-ship options. The U.S. sales operation, including customer service, is based in Chicago. A new sales representative force being formed will be directed by Gallagher, a furniture veteran and former owner of Prime Resources International.
With this new venture, Henglin Chair is targeting Top 100 furniture stores as well as smaller independents, Gallagher said. The company also exports its products to leading markets throughout the world, including Europe, Japan and other Asian markets.
