The Las Vegas Market Is Shifting Its Timeframe to a Sunday Through Thursday Schedule

In a move it says will better serve the needs of retailers, the Las Vegas Market is shifting its timeframe to a Sunday through Thursday schedule starting in January 2014.

Since its inception in July 2005, the show has run on a Monday through Friday schedule. The new date pattern gives retailers a weekend day to work the show and also accommodates Friday travel schedules, according to International Market Centers, which manages the show.

The dates in 2014 are Jan. 26-30 and July 27-31, while the dates in 2015 are Jan. 18-22 and Aug. 2-6. The 2016 dates are Jan. 17-21 and July 31-Aug. 4.

The new calendar also aims to coincide with other shows including the Surfaces/StonExpo, which runs Jan. 28-30, 2014 and Jan. 21-23, 2015 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

The change also comes on the heels of the Tupelo Furniture Market shifting its dates from February to Jan. 16-19, 2014 and Jan. 15-18, 2015.

"In the face of recent upheaval in the industry show calendar, with other shows switching dates and running times, Las Vegas is maintaining continuity and organizing a consistent timeframe for market participants," Robert Maricich, IMC President and CEO said in a statement. "An extremely successful summer market - with exponential year-over-year growth in both buyer attendance and vendor participation - has teed-up some great momentum for our future growth, making Las Vegas Market the leading home furnishings and gift destination in the western United States."
