Documents filed on Surya's behalf indicate that the rug and accessories source has plans for a 1.28 million-square-foot industrial facility in Bartow County, Ga.
According to a report by the Rome (Ga.) News-Tribune, Southland Engineers has filed a Development of Regional Impact document with the Northwest Regional Commission.
According to the submission, two phases are planned for the project. The first phase includes 574,000 square feet, with 50,000 square feet designated as office space. An additional 711,000 square feet of space is planned for Phase II.
In the documents filed with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, it is anticipated that the first phase will be completed by December 2014 with Phase II wrapped up by December 2017.
Surya, which manufactures rugs, pillows, poufs, wall art, mirrors, lamps and accent furniture, said more information on the project will be released later.
