On July 9, 2015, the Working Conference of CCCME on Trade Facilitation and Overseas Cooperation Zones was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. The conference was jointly held by CCCME and the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province with the theme of implementing the strategy of “One Belt and One Road”, promoting trade facilitation for the outbound trade and investment of enterprises, and helping Chinese enterprises to take the overseas cooperation zones as the platform themed on international capacity and overseas investment cooperation.
The conference was attended by the leaders of the Department of Outward Investment and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province, 30 large member enterprise of CCCME, 10 enterprises in Jiangsu Province who are inclined to invest overseas, and the leading officials of 7 overseas cooperation zones in Vietnam, Thailand, Pakistan, Hungary, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Zambia who have passed the verification of the Ministry of Commerce.
The conference was presided over by the Vice Director of CCCME Wang Guiqing, who made a report on the main work of the Committee of Trade Facilitation in the first half year, and the situation of attending the symposium of the supervision group of the State Council on the charges of foreign trade. The members of the Committee of Trade Facilitation like Gree Electric Appliances Inc. and Cixi Import and Export had extensive discussions on the facilitation issues including export rebates and overseas investment.
The person in charge of the overseas cooperation zones introduced the trade and investment opportunities in the host countries, the policies, laws and regulations that the enterprises need to be aware of, and the building situation and business attraction conditions of the cooperation zones. According to their own practical demands of “going out”, the participant enterprise had consultations and communications, as well as negotiations for entering into the cooperation zones.
The conference built a platform for Chinese enterprise to interact with overseas cooperation zones of manufacturing and processing, resources development and business logistics. The conference is also the first activity after the establishment of the investment promotion mechanism of the overseas cooperation zones of the Ministry of Commerce on June 11 this year. As a member of the investment promotion mechanism of the overseas cooperation zones, CCCME will give a full play to its own advantages, support its member enterprises to carry out overseas investment and capacity cooperation with high efficiency and safety, taking the overseas cooperation zones as the investment supporter.
