At the Lingotto Exhibitions in Turin, from the 26th of February to the 6th of March 2011, is showing Expocasa again, the main event of the sector in the North-West addressed to most people: a single, large showroom where visitors have free access to all the proposals of the most important brands presented by the most important retailers, with the possibility of buying directly at the Exhibition. Organized by GL Events Italy - Lingotto Exhibitions, Expocasa presents not only kitchens and bedrooms, as well as bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, outdoor furniture, solutions for energy saving and restructuring. Three exhibition halls with over 170 stands and 400 brands for a path through the latest design trends, the proposals of modern and contemporary, without forgetting the tradition of the cfaftmen.

The Design Village
Second edition of the tocBEeo project : sustainability in the kitchen: a space dedicated to innovation, where creative and designers this time have grappled with the issue of sustainability in the kitchen. The 30 selected to exhibit at the Design Village have presented an object or an original design not yet in production designed in compliance with at least one of the three definitions ECO: Economy of the project, Ecology process ECOmulti-product functionality. These instruments, items of furniture and products not only are useful at various stages of use of the kitchen, but may also have an efficient and pleasant experience this environment before, during and after. From bag to carry food in the kitchen, the pantry to keep it, the tools for working table furnishings, to the management of waste materials.

Meetings with architects
The 2011 edition of Expocasa renews the possibility of individual interviews with the architects, who give the first useful piece of information for a a project of interior design for free. In collaboration with GAT - Association of Young Architects Turin. The meetings, which last 30 minutes, are booked through the website expocasa.it: on weekends from 17.30 to 19.30 p.m., on Thursday 3th and Friday 4th of March, however, from 17.30 to 19.30 p.m. In case of cancellations or available spaces, you can directly access the meeting at the Exhibitions.
Courses and suggestions with Viridea
Thanks to the partnership with Viridea , Expocasa gives great importance to indoor green, but also curiosity and solutions for the home green, on garden and terrace. Through the assistance of Garden Center of Collegno and Settimo Torinese, Viridea proposes in its own stand a series of exhibitions pattern from which to draw inspiration to enhance with the green in their own homes, garden, terrace and pets care. Show cooking
For the first time in the Expocasa evenings chefs will take part in cooking demonstrations of dishes and appetizers. Their "stage" are the kitchens and cooking tops of the most important brands showing at the exhibition (schedule on line). Already confirmed the presence of Simone Rugiati , the popular chef star of several events on television about the cooking world.
Radical Design. If form follows emotion
In the Expocasa context, an exhibitions shows for the first time the phenomenon of Radical Design from the 1960s to the present. The exhibitions is maneged by Vittorio Amedeo Sacco and Edoardo Scagliola. The Radical Design was born in Italy, first in Florence, Milan and Turin - and spreads by influencing Europe and finally the whole international scene. Between the 1960s and 1970s the way architecture and design changes radically and for the first time no longer only the criteria of rationality and functionality, but the communication of emotions. The first one to make this " revolution" is Ettore Sottsass, Archizoom, Gaetano Pesce, Superstudio, Mendini in the 1980s with the vitality and the linguistic explosion,the Alchimia and Memphis period, with works of Sottsass, Branzi, Hollein, Graves, Thun, Zanini, De Lucchi, to arrive at the experimental evolution between the 1990s and today with the latest generations and experimental continuity. Many original works are shown including sofas, chairs, lamps, accessories, among the most significant of the whole production: funny, humorous pieces, where the invention and immagination have no borders and that have made the design world history.
