Bosch Packaging Technology is set to introduce the new Fast Air Lock ISS 1000, which has been developed for contamination-free transfer of pharmaceutical equipment into and out of isolators.
The new system operates independently from the status of the main filling isolator and can, and its cycle times have been reduced with an evaporation process and an optimized loading unit. The lock's external door can be opened while the isolator is in operation, and bio-decontamination can also take place independently from the operating condition of the main isolator.
According to Bosch, the transfer cart enables an ergonomic loading and unloading of the lock, which leads to optimized loading patterns and consequently to minimized transfer times. Depending on the load, the Fast Air Lock ISS 1000 only needs about 20 minutes per cycle.
The system is equipped with Bosch SafeVAP bio-decontamination system, which ensures a safe evaporation of hydrogen peroxide. It is available as integrated or stand-alone version.
The stand-alone unit, instead of the inner door has an aseptic interface in the form of rapid transfer port (RTP) system. The connected container and the lock in the version are decontaminated simultaneously, the company said.
