If you've ever shopped for wood-framed windows, you know that "sticking" refers to the interior edge where glass meets wood, not the resistance you hit when trying to open an old window. Shoppers seeking a contemporary design expect modern choices down to this very detail. Now Marvin Windows and Doors has added a squared-off look to its product line.
Before the new square sticking Marvin is showing at this year's International Builders' Show in Las Vegas, existing choices available for windows' interiors have typically been limited to the more styled ovolo (convex) and ogee (slightly S-shaped). Square sticking meets the glass at a clean right angle.
The new profile choice will be available in all wood types across most of Marvin's product line, including on simulated divided lite bars, which outline the panes. Depending on product style, you might be charged a small (less than 10 percent) premium for this option. But since that's case-by-case according to what you negotiate with your dealer, you might pay nothing extra at all.
